Prue Jeffries Biography<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

A pioneer and visionary of women\u2019s surfing, Prue Jeffries spent two decades traveling the world on the Association of Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour, now known as the WSL (World Surf League). Prue Jeffries gained recognition for her graceful, flowing, and stylish surfing style. She was a former <\/span>#6 in the world, a dual silver medalist of the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Surfing Games (the Olympic prototype for surfing), the winner of the Margaret River Masters, and a finalist at Bells Beach and the US Open of Surfing. <\/span>Prue has paddled outrigger canoes in estuaries and open ocean long-distance races such as the <\/span>Na Wahine O Ke Kai,<\/em> Molokai to Oahu, and <\/span>Hamilton Island Cup<\/em>. She combines her diverse experiences with stand-up paddling, a sport she has been involved in since its inception.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

She has taught surfing and SUP individually and in groups for 15 years. Since 2008, she has volunteered to help children with terminal cancer, brain injuries, paralysis, trauma, autism, and rare neurological diseases learn to surf, including working with surf therapy dogs in their early stages of development. She has been using the healing potential of nature and water through surfing, paddling, walking, and swimming for over 30 years. Prue is also a published writer, editorial consultant, founder of a women\u2019s clothing company, brand ambassador, event producer, and filmmaker.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Being with the ocean, nature, and the creative flow of life informs Prue deeply. Prue has dedicated many years to her work as a practitioner and guide, assisting individuals in achieving self-awareness and embodiment. Prue blends experiential knowledge from her affinity with nature, water, and movement; an understanding of the body from her athletic career; training in somatic and body-centered approaches; with extensive life experiences and personal contemplative practices in order to guide and support people for wholeness, well-being, and unity. She is deeply passionate about the transformative potential of nature, in particular water. Prue has led retreats in places such as San Diego, Mexico, Zion National Park, Utah, Mt. Shasta, and Malta.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Prue is a <\/span>Continuum Teacher<\/em>, a <\/span>Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Teacher<\/em>, a <\/span>Master<\/em> <\/span>Somatic Movement Educator <\/em>(MSME\/T), a massage therapist, and a Biodynamic<\/span> Craniosacral Therapist<\/em> (BCST), and has created a holistic life awareness process called <\/span>NAIO\u2122<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>that she trains practitioners in. Prue has developed a somatic movement practice that she considers a form of “surfing” called <\/span>Cosmocean\u2122.<\/strong> She offers programs through <\/span>Body of Wonder,<\/strong><\/a> which offers somatic education and awareness seminars. With <\/span>Surf the Flow<\/strong>, she offers somatic education and retreats combining the therapeutic benefits of somatic practices, water, and nature to build resilience and increase wellness. Her extensive life experiences and devotion to personal contemplative practices inform her deeply, which she expresses with a gentle and unassuming lightness to guide and support people in connecting with nature and achieving a greater sense of health.<\/span><\/p>\n
